A podiatrist, or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), is a medical specialist trained to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the feet, ankles, and lower legs. Podiatrists are qualified to manage a wide range of concerns, from routine foot care to complex surgical procedures. Their scope of practice includes resetting broken bones, prescribing medications, ordering lab tests and imaging (such as X-rays), and performing surgery when necessary.

To become a podiatrist, an individual must complete four years of podiatric medical school, followed by a 2–4-year surgical residency. During residency, podiatrists gain hands-on experience in hospital settings, where they develop both medical and surgical skills.  After completing their training, our podiatrists have gone on to achieve board certification through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS)—a distinction that reflects their training and expertise.

If you’re dealing with any issues involving your feet, ankles, or lower legs, it’s important to consult with a qualified podiatrist. Our experienced doctors will provide a thorough evaluation, accurate diagnosis, and a personalized treatment plan to help you return to comfort and mobility.
